Target audience

Educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Prerequisite

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Award issued

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.

The unit of competency includes the competency requirements of HLTAID001 Provide CPR and HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support and HLTAID003 Provide First Aid.


Course duration

Course is delivered in a blended learning model including:

 

  1. online theory training 

  2. 1-day practical classroom training

Course Fees

$128 (GST Free) 

This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. 

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Charter Care recommends, in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, that first aid skills are renewed at least every three years and CPR skills every 12 months.

Please note it is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.
